Walk Description
Start your walk with a ferry across the Thames to the Royal Docks and a walk towards the site of the 2012 Games through Beckton parks, the Greenway and the Lower Lea Valley to the largest remaining C18th tidal mill at Three Mills. See the site of the 2012 Games under construction and learn more about the legacy. The walk takes in the Greenway, Bazelgette's famous raised sewer that combated the "Great Stink" and cholera outbreaks, which is being improved to take visitors from East Ham station to the Olympic Park. The Greenway now hosts a brand new visitor centre, the "View Tube", with the best view of the stadium under construction. WCs at Newham City Farm. Walkers are advised to bring a packed lunch.
